Hi there! I need some help because I think my skin is in trouble. I wear makeup daily since im 10, and im 13: foundation, corrector and compact powder; all of them every single day. People have told me that doing that so young is really bad for my skin but it's my only option cuz without makeup my skin looks really bad because plus I have acne. What shall I do?

you should stop wearing make up, give your face a breather (literally), and try and do something to get rid of you acne first. the only thing you should be wearing for your age (face-wise) is moisturizer!

One thing that I did not realize when I was young was how much more important skin is than wearing makeup. When you are young, wearing makeup makes you feel nice and pretty. But all the makeup in the world won't make a difference if you have bad skin.
First of all. What you haven't been talking about is what you do to take care of your skin. You should be worrying more about correcting skin problems than covering them up.
You need to get yourself a skincare system. I wouldn't recomend drug store ones. Clinique has a great skincare line that will be personalized to make your skin as beautiful as it can be.
Either way, it should have steps. Think soap, astringent, mosturizer. And just beacause you have acne don't think you don't need a mosturizer.
Once you have gotten all of this taken care of, THEN you worry about your makeup.
I am sorry, but you are 13, you under no circumstances need anything more than conceleer and a liquid foundation. (both should be oil free)
and remember less is more, you don't want to clog your pores because thats what gives you acne to begin with.

heeyyy!! hey sista!!! i went through that same thing!!! cept i was 16 when i stopped. i don't need to wear makeup anymore now!!!
although you WILL feel weird for the first month or two, your skin will drastically change!!!
if you don't feel that you can stop all at once, then i'd suggest dropping the foundation and compact powder and ONLY WEARING CORRECTOR for a while. try wearing mascara and getting some nice lip gloss. soon try using less and less coverup until you don't use any at all. try using benzoyl peroxide cream before bed every night...and soon try getting a skin colored version even to wear during the day time. this really helped me!!!
i know it might be hard, but think about how you want to look next year. it is probably summer vacation where you are, so i'd suggest cutting out all of the makeup for now and just focusing on your skin and acne until school starts up and then you will have a better choice on what to do -- your skin will probably be a lot better by then!!!
good luck!!!
ps: i used to wear corrector, compact powder, blush, mascara*sometimes*, eyeshadow*sometimes*, and bright pink lipstick. now i feel fine walking out of the house with NOTHING on my face!!!
good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!=D=D=D

your acne is probably worse because of the things you put on your skin.... try and slowly cut down on the amount of makeup you use and try and stop using foundation altogether, use a little bit of powder if you want as it wont make much difference to the condition of your skin. you will see that if over a long time u stop using foundation your acne won't be as bad and your skin will start glowing more and looking better. Be aware of the fact that you probably think your skin looks worse without makeup than it actually does.

Go to a dermatologist so that they can decide which creams or products will be best for your skin to get rid of your acne. Buy an acne face wash that you can use in the shower and clean your face every day. You really need to start weening yourself off the makeup, it will clog your pores big time and it never looks good when someone wears that much makeup. It's also probably causing your acne to worsen.

The reason you have acne is because you have all that stuff on your face for the last three years. Better stop before the acne turnes into deep pits and permanent scaring. You can get an infected face as long as you have open sores and the possibility of cancer. Clean yourself up--almost worse than a crack addict. Young or old that stuff is not good for anybodies skin or smile. You are only 13---just who do you think your impressing???. Need profession mental help cause there is a reason why your doin this to yourself. . Other people have told you not to wear that stuff. Is it gona make a difference--will you listen if we here on yahoo tell you the same thing. . What shall I do? stop --you do not need make up

since the makeup is probably what is causing the acne, don't wear it ALL the time. if your staying in for the day or something then go without the makeup, start treating your face with medicine and for acne and using cleanser moisterizer, toner etcetera. but while your waiting for your face to clear up but you still want to cover the acne use CoverGirl Clean Liquid Foundation and Powder, it is good for your skin (non acnegenic non comedegenic and oil free) so you won't break out because of the makeup.

Pls treat the acne first, as U will get marks and indents on your face that will never go away, take your acne seriously, there r a lot of ways to do that, find one that is best 4 U. In the mean time, get dermablend or some kind of a concealer to cover the acne, then apply liquid foundation with some water in a thin cover. Then set it lightly with pressed powder. Let it dry for a few seconds then remove all that is extra. One of the main reasons young girls have acne is that they never leave their face make-up free, and forget to wash and remove make up at night. When U R home take off all immediately and keep face soap and water clean. Nothing more , nothing less. Good Luck

Ask your parent or guardian to take you to a dermatologist, the doctor will most likely be able to help you clear your skin up, maybe try Proactive.. I've heard good things from that. Personally if I wear too much makeup my skin gets clogged up and causes more acne than I had to begin with. You're probably already beautiful anyway and I doubt you need as much makeup as you wear now, only use a little to enhance your features, rather than painting them on.

Theres nothing wrong with wearing makeup at 10, but it depends on how much you wear. Definately stop wearing so much. When I was that age, i only wore lip gloss, eye shadow, and a touch of mascara. I didnt start wearing everything until 12. But then I realized that foundation took up too much time and made me break out. You can still wear all the makeup, just do it lightly. For example, light brown eyeshadow, a thin layer of brown eyeliner on the lower lashes, mascara, coverup and powder to even out your skin and blush only if you are fair and you need it. For your acne, use a benzol perozide cream or an acid peel (Theraderm fruit acid exfoliants). And wash your face every day.

If you have bad acne right now, then stop wearing make up and take care of your acne first. Honestly, if you put on make up right now it's just going to make your acne worst. Besides, your only 13. Wait until high school or something to wear make up or just wear light make up. You don't need to wear foundation adn corrector. Just compact powder and mascara and blush should be enough. =)
