When is it usual to start your period? I'm 12 and like all my friends have started and I'm wodering why I haven't yet. I GUESS it's because I kinda develope slowly but I don't wanna get it!!

Well you will get it eventually. Girls get it from about 11-16.

Well I started mine when I was 12. I think that is the normal age, but every girl is different. Some girls dont even start until they are 17 to 20 years old. Dont be afraid of your period. Its not all that bad.

well, when you have your period it isnt that bad.
its just those damn cramps that get you weakened.
but @ anyrate:
i know someone that got there period @ 6 or 7 years old, and i also know someone that is a senior in high school and the last time i spoke to her she told me she didnt get hers yet.
but point is everybody is different and develops @ different times.
then when your period comes the days of the average female is 5-7 days, some females only have them for 10 days and i could only imagine what that pain is like/
and dont worry about that yet that doesnt mean that your irregular or anything but if youre still worried ask your parents to take you to the OB/GYN

Everyone is different! I started 2 weeks after my 13th birthday. The average age is around 13 I think.
I have a friend that started when she was 9 and I have another friend that started when she was 17! Just wait and it will come when your bodies ready.

I am nearly 14 and i only started last week. They come at different times for everyone, my friend didn't start until she was 16! Don't worry, you aren't abnormal or anything. Just make the most of your time. Periods start about 2 years after puberty. Make the most of the time you have without them!

heya! I was 12 when i started mine if you have got the following you are close:
1. Breasts
2. Pubic and underarm hair
3. Disharge ( white or off white in colour)
If you have got these ya close dont worry it is not that bad trust me ( experience of 5 years). It is just bleedin out ya vagina! you may get pains but it is not the end of the world? About you dont wanna get it everyone has to get it i see you have loads of worries can i suggest please ya talk to a female member of the family or ya mum! They have been through it before but dont worry it is nothing to worry about trust me been there!

dont worry everyone starts at different times i started when i was 13 and my 2 year younger sister started at 11 so it shows even family dont start at the same time. dont worry once you have started u will wish it was later lol. <3

all my friends started in like 6th grade or the summer after, but i didnt get mine til this april, and I'm in 8th grade. Just be glad you have more time to prepare for it. It's a huge pain when you're younger.

EVERY woman gets their period whether they want it or not! u will get it when your body is strong enough to handle it......but the average age is from 8-16 and nothing is wrong with you

NO YOU DONT! i got mine today and it sucks. I am too cranky to hang with friends and i dont wanna go swimming. You wont get it till your around 13 though
