Good question in a global picture many have been the lowest most abused. It's just with time people forget. Mexicans were ruled badly by Spain and France. The US has well documented abuses against Blacks and Native Americans. The Germans of course...
The Russians from the tzar's through communism ...
The middle East (huge area thousands of years of wars.
African nations also have many historical wars, hatreds.
India and south Asia nations.
Australia and the native people.
Fiji and the native people.
I think every place humans have lived there has been - or currently is - a group being abused by others, except the South Pole.
Had to end quickly as I was depressing myself - after 2000+ years we keep repeating and repeating the same cycle of abuses.
I think it's because the meanest dog still runs the pack - even if we say they don't. (It's a mentality I hope ends someday.)
More for my prayers tonight to think about.
Great question.
Peace.
Totally forgot the Chinese history...

The way people thought then was different from now. The Pilgrims came to America to escape from persecution in England. The Jews betrayed Jesus and he was crucified to death by the Roman soldiers. We do not have complete history books on ALL the people in this world. So whatever we have, we just assume that they are the worst. What about when the Israelites were under the rule of Pharoah ? What do you think of the aborigines in Australia nowadays ? How are the blacks coping in South Africa ? When Japan invaded Asia, how were the conditions ? You see, books are missing or nobody wrote about them or may be these books are burned. So it like we have many, many, many missing links in the history of Earth. Like what happened to the dinosaurs ?

I live where they have the 7 tribes during the trail of tears they were brought here. Most Native Americans died from the trip.
There is many Sioux Indians in the Dakotas but in Oklahoma there is a bunch of different tribes. I know I am Choctaw.
However man's inhumanity to man is nothing new. My grandma said that there have been people in Africa starving since she was a child. She was surprised they hadn't all died out by now.
Then the brutality of the white man to the black people during the slavery days. The genocide in Africa now is called the worst in the history of the world. 50,000 Children so far have been kidnapped to be used as sex slaves and young men to make go to war. It is all been done by the Sudanese government under the leadership of the Islamic forces.
To date the Muslims have been the most war like and the worst killing machines in the history of the world.
Hard to believe they are worst than white men but they are.

Anti-Semites still happens today, and there's continual fighting in Israel (etc, etc). But the Native Americans also had it pretty bad, I mean... There's barely any left.
It's hard to decide, but it were to be based on the amount of violence, hate, and aggression that the standing government acted upon either group, then the Jews had it worse.

The native american of course. They land has been stoled and they were forced to live on a little peice of land.I think that is pure ****.
There is way more than 17 left. They are reservations all over the United States.Whats worse is people are complaining about their tribal funds and I think people should lay off the natives and worry about the bigger picture i.e crime, violence, and poverty...

Different horrors of history can not be compared. They are equally bad in their own ways.
Although...what Native peoples dealt with, and still do, the loss of people, culture, and even home with nowhere to go...not much can top that.
However...where on earth do you get the number 17 from? While the populations may not be what they once were due to murder, and intermarriage dwindling some families down to "one drop" status,...there are MANY Native people still today.

Everybody has had their turn in the barrell throughout history.
Even the Europeans. Most recently those native to the Americas have had it the worst. Africans both from the slave trade and colonialism run a close second.

While you are trying to point out the suffering of others don't forget about your people because slavery was no walk in the park... the middle passage ,the women (men too I am sure) could be raped by any white man at any time, being bought and sold.. families torn apart, losing their culture and languages, being thought of as property.. they could not meet in groups, go out at night, learn to read or write. They were branded, whipped with whips that tore out a bit of flesh every time they made contact, mutilated, drowned, hung, burned at the stake, it was common at that time for slaves to have an arm or leg broken or even cut off as punishment, a master who was upset with. a slave could have that slave whipped to death although it was supposed to be illegal... imagine living and having kids knowing that they really are not yours and can be taken away at any time and you can do nothing about it.. I hate when people ask these questions they seem to try and minimize what my ancestors went through as if it was an easy life and that they could go through it with ease... I know I couldn't
here is a site with some slave codes from georgia http://academic.udayton.edu/race/02rights/slavelaw.htm#4
