The USDA plant database has a great seach function. I did a quick seach for native, obligate wetland plants that are found in New Jersey and got 630 results: http://plants.usda.gov/java/wetland?txtparm=&category=sciname&familycategory=all&duration=all&growthhabit=all&origin=all&stateSelect=34&nat_wet_ind=OBL&wet_region=nwi_r1&nreg_wet_status=OBL&sort=sciname&submit.x=69&submit.y=18

Some of these have different growt types - completely aquatic/underwater like pondweeds, floating on the top of the water (duckweed), or with only the bottoms of the plants in water, or emergets (cattails). Pick out what you need from the list.
