Riding Position. The recumbent riding position enables the rider to face forward, at a comfortable angle, and view the passing scenery. An upright bike, particularly a road bike, on the other hand, has a riding position in which the natural angle is to stare down at the pavement below. In order to see the scenery, you have to crane your neck upward.
Health. Many riders switch to recumbents to alleviate the chronic back or neck pain they got from riding upright bikes. And on tricycles (or trikes), the inherent stability of three wheels allows very low gearing to be used, so that hills can be climbed without strain on joints. Also, on some recumbents, the rider's legs are nearly at the same height as the heart. This reduces the rider's hydrostatic pressure, thus allowing venous blood to more easily return to the heart. This physiological effect of improved circulation suggests an increase in rider endurance and/or increased power output on long rides."

My doctor told me I could ride a bike because the motion in my hips would help with cramping and help the baby move down towards the end of pregnancy. But he did warn me of the risks of falling off, or going into labor in the middle of my ride! I was basically told just not to start up any new activities during pregnancy, but if I could do it not pregnant, I could do it pregnant. Just be careful, and dont fall!
I had a friend who didnt have any choice but to ride her bike back and forth to work each day. She did it through out her whole pregnancy.

No, first of all if you are not a normal bike rider your body is not used to that type of sitting position - most bike seats are narrow and can cause excess pressure on your bottom. Second, if you fall it can hurt you and your child. Exercise is good while pregnant b/c if helps keep you in shape and will help with a healthy and easy delivery. Walking is the best exercise to do.

My doctor said I could bike ride through the 1st trimester only. After that your body starts to change, and grow, your center of gravity gets thrown off and it's too risky to bike ride. Walking and swimming are great alternatives.

Yup as long as your having a safe pregnancy and taking it easy, not overdoing it. Regular bike riding or walking is great to keep in shape and it will help when it comes time for delivery since the better in shape your muscles and body is they say the easier on your body it is to deliver.

Bike riding and horse back riding are both activities that are to be avoided while pregnancy due to the increased risk of a major fall which could be traumatic to both you and baby! Talk to your doc before you start riding...

No, you are at a higher risk for falling because your balance is off. Safe excersizes for pregnant women are swimming and walking. Anything else, you should ask your doctor.

NO! The excersice itself isnt bad but there are too many risks. From the moment you get pregnate a fall can be fatal to your baby. Also, when you are pregnate your balance is off. I WOULDNT RISK IT. Try walking.
