Got an FTP program? Like ws_ftp or Filezilla or Fireftp? Set up an "account". "Name" it anything (any name you'll remember in the future - don't matter - name it "ANYTHING"). Into "userid" and "password" enter the information your hosting company gave you when you paid for their services. (They darned well better have given you that info, and you darned well better have WRITTEN OR PRINTED IT!!!) Into "ftp server" place either the name or IP address of the server the host company gave you (they darned well have oughta given you this, too!)

Click "remember password".

Someday, when you're ready to trade files back and forth, click Connect.

If this doesn't cover your settings, then you need to call that there hosting company and gripe, strongly.
