I don't think the Yankees really need a song--certainly not something as bush-league as a "fight song." They play "New York, New York," by Frank Sinatra after the games a lot, though. Maybe that's what you were thinking of here.

On the Letterman show a while back, Biff Henderson made up a song about the Yankees, though. Here are the lyrics:

We say they are the best!

Come on, I thought you Yankees fans would know this one...and I'm a Mets fan! I'm utterly shocked that this classic has been forgotten...and I'm not even old enough to remember the Reggie Jackson days.

There is indeed a theme song, "Here Come the Yankees!" It's from 1967 (a few years after "Meet the Mets"), composed by Bob Bundin and Lou Stallman. It's often heard in instrumental form.

btw, they have no business having such a horrible record. if you can spend $51 million for a guy in his forties, u can at least try to sign a 1st baseman

I am 50 and in the 1960s on TV they used to have a song on the pregame baseball. sorry do not remember.
