Sometimes we feel sadder than usual because we need a boost physically-depression affects the brain, and remember that the brain is a part of the body. I would recommend something natural, though, since you are pregnant. Find a good health food store and ask what they recommend.
You are also having a hard time because you are going through something extremely difficult, and your hormones changing, and your body changing all the time doesn't help. Hang in there!! It will get better, though it doesn't seem like it right now. There WILL come a day when you will feel like yourself again, without the crying, depression, mood swings, etc. You will be normal again, and happy. This part of your life isn't forever, even though everything has changed for you.
Things seem intensified because of the pregnancy. And not eating right now makes things worse. Most people can't miss a meal without not feeling well. Eat whatever you feel up to eating right now.
I'm sorry your boyfriend isn't helping like he should. It's too easy for guys to walk away, isn't it? But you can do it. I'll be thinking about you.

Yes, there are antidepressants that are safe during pregnancy. It is also important to get yourself in to talk to a therapist or someone who can help you learn to cope with some of these issues. I am judging by your question that depression isn't just a pregnancy symptom, but something you deal with when not pregnant as well.
I was so depressed up until about 4 months (and I didn't even know I WAS pregnant) I couldn't stop crying and felt like every small problem was a disaster of epic proportions. Now I am nearly 7 months and so excited and happy that I can shake off most any dark cloud without much more than a peek at my ultrasound pictures (and my situation is FAR less than ideal for starting a family).
Remember that every problem can be overcome, but it does take time! The rest of your life can't change in an instant, even though one day you weren't pregnant and now you are due in 4 months! Unfortunately the rest of the world doesn't keep schedule with pregnancy, so you just have to push through the inconveniences and hard times, and know that it is up to you to make everything come together. If you are having trouble financially, contact a pro-life counseling center. They can put you in touch with services to help ease your burden - whether they be medical costs for the pregnancy or depression, or just diapers and formula. They may even help you find ways to get your partner more involved in your care (if that is possible). If nothing else they can give you someone to talk to who cares about you and your baby and understands how hard it can be.

You should be in the best of health, mentally and physically, when you're in the pregnant state. Please get help fast! You needn't suffer like that! Pregnancy is all about fluctuating hormones and you've got that big time. Get anti-depressants and stay on them till after the birth and it'll help you get through the post-partum baby blues that can often happen too. I speak from experience. I was on anti-depressants and I just sailed through my pregnancy. No baby blues and no hormone rebounding! Do yourself and your baby a favor, get help! Your baby can feel what you feel, so give the kid a happier environment to be incubating in, inside of you. Your husband just doesn't understand how totally changing it is to be pregnant. Make sure you have good nutrition and vitamin supplementation as well. Every little bit helps! Listen to relaxing music like that from the Solitudes line, like Natural Relaxation and Stress Relief. You'll just feel better! You need to surround yourself with an oasis of feel-good stuff, from your environment, the people around you and especially, keeping your inner chemical balance in check. And sometimes that means getting medical help to get you through this. Your body is trying to tell you something by it's responses to things so you're listening and noticing, now do something about it! Good luck and take care!

There are a lot of antidepressants out there that are very safe to take during pregnancy. I take Zoloft and it really helps me, I am 11 weeks pregnant. Just remember the hormones are doing this to you. They really mess the system up. Just hang in there and let the Dr help you find a medicine that will help you deal with the crazy hormones. Best of luck.

Don't fret hunny being pregs is a hard thing and most likely you are suffering anxiety as I did when I was pregnat with my first. Just talk to your doc he will help you the best way he can. Also the hospital most likely has classes or other stuff to help out and keep busy do fun summer stuff while you can.

Well if you have a sit down with your doc and explain how drastic without embellishing at all, he/she will tell you the risks involved with taking any anti-depressants. Obviously the best option if to take nothing if you can help it while pregant. However, if he/she deems necessary they may prescribe it for you if the risk of you not taking it out-weigh the risk to your baby.

If you are feeling that way then you need to talk to your doctor immediately and let him/her know. They can discuss with you what medications are safe to take while you are pregnant to help you.
