2006 Campaign/Election help?

I have to write a paper for my govt. class about a 2006 campaign or election; I have to write about the parties, candidates, platforms, interest groups, polls, etc. involved. Any suggestions on which campaign/election (local or national) that I can find a lot of information to write abou? I'd really appreciate it!
