There have been two cases of octuplets born alive, but none with all surviving. The family in Houston had 7 survive in 1998. The other set was born in Italy in 2000. I know some died, but I don't know how many survived.

This is the result of fertility medication that causes multiple eggs to emerge, not IVF.

I don't think believe there are any verified cases of spontaneous multiples higher than 6.

Do an internet search for a site called "Facts About Multiples". You can get more information about multiples than you can imagine.

Octuplets have been born in the United States. Seven of the eight survived. I do not recall further details, other than they were African American and the parents were from another country (though they had immigrated here).

Yes, it is possible to have octuplets but I think that the woman would have to have invitro in order to get pregnant with that many babies at once.

I agree with Malak, it's possible, but I don't think it would happen naturally. Multiple births are pretty common when a woman's done in vitro and/or fertility drugs, though.

Um it may be possible to initally become pregnant with octuplets, but I don't think anyone had successfully given birth to live octuplets. Although with all the medical advances, I wouldn't be surprised if someone does int he near futre.
