It is all very suspicious if you ask me anything. It smells like a rat. Until the authorities get involved, the McCanns will get away with it. The McCanns know more than what they are letting out. You can see guilt in Gerry's eyes, it stands out like a sore thumb.

'She'? Um, how about ''THEY'? The mother didn't act alone, it may have been Kate who went to check on them that particular time, but as the father, Gerry is equally responsible for this entire horrible mess. It makes me seriously angry when one parent is seen as being less answerable for the kids' welfare than the other.

You're right about the twins but I suspect it was panic. Would you be thinking straight if you'd just found your daughter missing?

Nonetheless... people are making good points about the words ''they've taken her''. That could also be put down to panic, but it is rather a weird way to react given the circumstamces. there does seem to be something odd about this whole situation, I won't dispute that for a second.

yes I heard same thing weeks ago. IF that is true then indeed it is an odd thing to say and do. Most would grab the twins and be hysterically screaming Maddy is gone.
Saying "they have taken her" implies she knows that someone was acting oddly and wanted her kid or that she knows who has taken her.

Some things don;t add up. But do we believe all we read?

I can just picture Kate running to the bar that night, distraught, harassed and shouting:
"Oh my god! It's terrible! I am so heartbroken! I think I could have broken my jogging record from apartment to bar if I hadn't fallen over some bloke carrying a child who got in my way..."

yeah its very odd. and think on this, Kate said "They've Taken HER" - WHO does she mean? She had TWO daughters. Surely she would say something like "They've Taken Madeleine". or "Madeleine's gone" etc.... it sounds very staged, like something from amateur dramatics.
As for the twins, if Kate was convinced from the off that Madeleine had been abducted, why did she leave the twins? It would probably be illogical that an abductor would return, but a Mothers protective instinct would be to grab the kids and keep em close.

I am not a fan of the McCanns by any means and I think they should be punished for leaving their kids alone that night. However, many parents in such a state of panic would have left two sleeping children to go and get help, I doubt she would have wasted time getting them into their pushchair and then raising the alarm, she probably just would have wanted to raise the alarm immediately.

As far as I am concerned though, the events of that evening are shrouded in mystery and always will be, the public only knows what they want us to know, I no longer read anything connected with the McCanns in the newspaper as I think there are more newsworthy stories. I would like to read something positive about finding Madeleine, but that's it for me on this subject.

It is fishy, as she left them and went to the bar alone.
Now how many hotels like this have phones? You can ring the bar if you know the number - usually 3 numbers. Or failing knowing the number, ring reception, easy number on all the walls near the fone, and ask them to put you through to the bar.
Why not just do that????
Good question Miss Marple.

Powder you should not perpetuate that myth about women, it is a mans insult and as a woman yourself, I am shocked you used it.

My question would have to be if she came out screaming 'They have taken her" why on earth did over 20 people trample all over the apartment looking for a child who they were convinced had been abducted? Why take so long to call the police also?
Very fishy. It stinks.

I expect she did leave the twins when she ran back to the bar. We should just be thankful that the kidnapper didn't poince again and take the twins. Let's face it, the abductor could still have been watching the apartment.

Whether she left the twins, had the twins or went back to the bar a child is still missing and I am still no sure if the parents were involved. Either way, they should not have left their children unattended no matter how safe or how close they thought they were. It's all so sad.
