I didnt see much of the old Doctor but with Eccleston and, more recently, Tennant the series has been an absolute revelation. This weeks episode has got John Simm (life On Mars) starring, just showing how much established actors want to appear on the show (people such as Richard Wilson have appared recently also)
Also, I don't know much of Back to the Future so I can't say how much better the Doctor is. Even so, Doctor is God so Doctor wins !

The Back to the Future movies were just more Hollywood tripe. Doctor Who shows imagination and doesn't rely on special effects for a good story. The writing in the Doctor Who series is enjoyable without being brassy nonsense.

there is no buffy on this fella's plasma screen - I can see unfamiliar face's - staring out looking at my beautiful face it seems they have nothing better to do than to spy on other people - do they get paid to do that ? to my mind that is a but- sick-dog-bot activity - they are giving me a vibe that interferes with my thoughts - trying to bend my mind and entrapment is their sport - trying to manipulate me into saying pathetic noise - dumb nuts - clever at bending warping other peoples minds - trick or treat brother - hummer - get out of my face because I am more intelligent than you - and all I hear them say is - huh-duh - what is this spud saying - going without lunch in the afternoon and what is the piste on the ski slopes got to do with snow especially a tobogonist - they are saying that I am dumber than they are - when they are mysoginistic-dinosaurs-with tuber-pimp-psychosis - wrapped up in rhino-plastic-psychosis -waiting to pelt corndogs - at justine - because I am saying the susan's strawbery mousse is flying of the platter in helleman's kitchen with the burning man wearing a red apron - why is there an apple in the kitchen wearing a demin jacket that looks like the one aeon flux when she was in the bathroon with that pre -pear- apple going on about the juice in the kitchen fridge and that fridge ain't wearing no denim jacket - because I am up early in the moring with a banana smoothie with one of those delicious strawberry's dipped in swiss chocolate - what is that hummer saying now - swiss chocolate that early in the morning - that hummer sound's like a real gentleman to me hummer - ok - I am happy are you happy - stay out of my face and stop interfering with my thought platter - dudes - that is not nice juice ! have a nice day - you dumb nuts ! come near me again and you will get a grinch smile - wrong - right - and I will rock you hummer around the clock because I am on a mission - and you have a tuna cracker in your face and I like american cookie dough ice cream - ok - you have a nice day.
