Children should be seen and not run over
You can lead a horse to water but you can't lead a fish to hay
You can't teach an old dog algebra
Never judge a man till you've walked a mile in his shoes then when you judge him your a mile away and you have his shoes.
Don't play with the Labrizzi boys, They're antisocial
Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs lay eggs in your ears.

OMG! My mother gave EXACTLY the same advice! Who knows? Maybe it was a fad for mothers to tell their kids that.
My dad gave me other advice. He said, "Never kick a man when he is down." When I asked him what he meant, he said I would understand when I was older. He was right. I do understand. And I agree with him entirely.
I'm not sure which advice was more important. I'd hate to have dirty underwear with holes in them under certain conditions, you know? But I doubt that's what my mother meant.

My mother gave me the same advice. Then I was in an auto accident. Do you have any idea what happens to your self-control when you're in an accident? It wouldn't matter if you put on underwear dipped in mud before the accident!

Don't give the milk away free because then the man will never want to buy the cow;
In other words" don't sleep with a man before you are married, because if you give it to him freel why should he want to marry you wheh he can get all the sex he wants without the marriage license. Ok, she was a big old fashioned. After living with my husband for 8 years we did indeed get marriedl

Honesty is the best policy.
Like when we went shopping once, Mum put some change in my jacket pocket. We both forgot about it until two weeks later. I gave the change back to my mum and she gave me half of it for being honest and not keeping it. Honesty rocks!!

Do the dishes and clean the house! I used to hate that stuff but now it comes naturally and I appreciate it more now that I know people who didn't have anyone to teach them those things.

Life is hard.
Oh yeah, and when I had a cold she told me not to sniff because people would think I was a coke head. (even though I was 8 at the time.)
