i Have a Crowntail Betta and there are fins right below his head and they were red but know the tip of it turned white i have never seen that white tip. What could this be?

It's actually not that unusual for bettas to have the pelvic fins (the paired fins under the body) tipped in white - several of my own fish have had this. See photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mallison01/103700769/

As long as they don't appear to be "stringy" white (in this case it would be caused bt a fungus), this isn't anything to worry about.

It is normal for the fins to have more than one color...BTW Betta's can live up to nine years...if not over fed all the time.

if he is growing back any lost finnage or young and growing still the tips will look like that -- they grow back white in bits and then color up. guppies will do the same thing.

if you got him recently, then thats his normal color coming out. when bettas are stressed, theire colors change slightly. now that hes getting used to his environment, his natural colors are showing.
