Is it the result of overfatigue, over thinking, overstraining of the mind or is it an accidentally ill fate?

I think all of the above. What I do to break it is put the probelm away and do other things. Sometimes a "mindless" activity like filing papers, mowing the lawn, etc. I try to clear my mind. Mental blocks occur because the channels we use to access memory are blocked and we have to unblock them. Sometimes we need to work on other things that are on our mind so that it frees up the channels. After the channels are clear, the solution often pops up! Amazing! It works almost every time for me. Also, sometimes working on something else causes a relation to what I wanted and then it pops up. Then I write it down immediately, finish what I am doing, and then go back to the thing I was blocked on. Meditation helped me to gain conscious management my thinking, by the way.

The best way I've found is to try focussing on something else.
