Hello, I'm apple Tech,

if your macbook is one year old, you really dont need any maintenace, however if you are facing some issues e.g:
* system runs slow
* applications crash
* computer shuts down randomly
* you get any error messages etc.

I would suggest you to run the disk utility to fix the problem, the following would give you step by step instructions:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214

Also if you have Apple Care Plan (two year extended warranty), you have unlimited technical and service support, they can also walk you through step by step.

If you dont have Apple Care Plan, and still you are under warranty, you may like to purchase Apple Care Plan for extra protection and a piece of mind.

Other than that, if you computer is working fine, and it's only one year old, I wouldn't be too worried, but running the disk utility is a very safe tool and it's recommended to run once in a month for your computer's smooth operation.

If it still works OK (and i bet it does) leave it be. You could take out an extended warranty, as parts are quite pricy.
