Beginning on the evening of August 8th and continuing into the early morning hours of August 9th, 1969 Sharon Tate and four others were murdered at her house.Steven Parent was shot to death in his car. Inside the house, the bodies of Sharon Tate and Jay Sebring were found in the living room, each was stabbed several times. On the front lawn lay the bodies of Wojciech Frykowski and Abigail Folger, also stabbed to death. Fryowski and Sebring were shot as well.
Charles Manson, Charles "Tex" Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel Susan Atkins and Linda Kasabian were charged with these murders.
The next night (August 10), supermarket executive Leno LaBianca and his wife, Rosemary were stabbed to death in their home. Charles Manson, Charles 'Tex' Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel and Leslie Van Houten were charged with the LaBianca murders after a lengthy investigation. Susan Atkins, was not charged because she provided testimony. Although Charles Manson didn't personally murder any of the victims, he was found guilty of the murders themselves, through the joint-responsibility rule of conspiracy.
