Is there any reason why I can't use glossy photo paper for an inkjet printer in a colour laser printer ? If not, what kind of photo paper can I use ?

No, Use photo paper designed for laser printers

The inkjet prints by spraying ink onto the paper
laser printers use laser light to charge areas of the paper then toner sticks to these charged areas then is fused to the paper by a very hot roller called a fuser

HP still makes the best. My color laser doesn't give near the quality of inkjet for photos. Graphics are a different story, it does fine. Georgia Pacific makes one, but it cost about the same as the HP paper and no better.

if it's plastic, it might melt and cause damage. check with the manufacturer
