In two separate relationships, I chose things above love and left the situation. In one of them, I chose not to give up my emotional well-being. In the other I chose not to give up my sanity. It sounds like a cold thing to say, however certain things must remain intact for love to be a viable option. Even though each is gone, I will always love the person they were at the time and cherish the memories I share with both of them.
