I just watched a video that talked about a school who made a rule stating that there was no touching allowed on campus. Several months ago, there was that whole ordeal where the Aliso Niguel principal, Dr. Charles Salter, banned the dances for inappropriate dancing. Are highschool principals getting too strict? Touching is a part of life...high fives, slaps on the back, fancy handshakes....it's all part of it! I don't understand, why you would completely ban something so harmless. Imagine all the strange conversations among the students AND teachers that followed. "Oh, sorry, man. I'd give you a high five but Mrs. What's-Her-Face is standing right there." And everyone knows that there WERE better solutions to solving the freak dancing problem at Aliso Niguel. That shouldn't have been a big deal from the start. People now a days are generally less reserved than they were several years ago.

My question is...
Do you think principals and teachers are too strict, nowadays?

I read a report speaking about how touch was a significant tool in building social skills. I think we need to get the word out.

my goodness this is getting ridiculous. does this mean when a student graduates and gets their diploma they don't get a handshake from the principal ? this still is a memory that I cherish when my teachers -- and later college professors shook my hand and said " congratulations. "
