Anything thrown in the trash becomes public domain so:
1. Be very careful to shred anything personal -
2. Then ask your neighbor what he/she needed in your trash?
Usually confronting the issue stops the behavior!

This has actually happened to me once. (The neighbor was really an oddball). I just let him because I figured if he was desperate enough to go through the stinky trash that's his problem. Now if they are getting credit card statements, that's another story. You may want to consider getting a paper shredder.

Nothing. There's no personal info in there (the only reason to be concerned about someone going through your trash). So identity theft is not a worry. No biggie. Let them have their fun.

Think that he wasn't the full ticket, cough loudly so he knew I was there and probabaly ensure that I shred any papers/personal stuff before sticking out the rubbish next time. I'd also make sure I emptied a cold tin of beans or something gross in the top of the rubbis as a little present for the nosy so and so for next time. Tee hee hee.

id be calling the police on them for trespassing on private property.
im actually kinda in that situation right now with a relative who said they could go through my garbage any (bleeding expletive) time they wanted to
let me tell you though if i catch them i will be reporting them to the police....family member or not!!!

put something unexpected in there and see what happens. lol
seriously though identity theft is the biggest uprising crime so be careful and make sure there not taking bills etc.
