Thanks for all the tips, I got the virus shield from AOL to scan my computer, but I think I'm going to buy NORTON antivirus 2007, it's $30, and if you buy virus protection, its probably better than the freebies. Can anyone tell me if this product is good, or if theres a better one out there for around $30. STILL NEED ANSWER ON WHETHER OR NOT I NEED TO CHANGE PASSWORDS BECAUSE OF KEYLOGGER/TROJAN!!!!! Thanks

Above are two links to sites that offer free anti virus software. And to set your mind at ease, both of these programs are at least as good or better then the ones that you pay for. The companys that supply this software also offer (paid for) versions. The free versions are the same as the paid for versions, but instead of having all of the bells and whistles, they are just anti virus programs. I have used them for years and have had "no" virus problems at all.

I had used Norton products since 2001, and I was always happy with them until about 2 years ago. They slowed my system down so much that I finally said "enough" and got a different program. However, since I research thoroughly every year before buying a new one, I found that Norton ranked higher than any of the other major brands by both users and editors. I have been very happy with the 2007 version, and it has not bogged down my system at all.

However, don't be fooled by the free programs. Since I ran out of license on Norton and I had an old computer that I needed security software on, I installed Zone Alarm (free version) for the firewall and Avast! (also free) for the antivirus software. Both worked great, and Avast found viruses that Norton did not.

I'm not sure what your previous question was about, but based on your info, if you are in doubt about the security of any password, change it. Better to be safe than sorry.

Norton will slow down your PC, hog the resources and completely take over your PC. If you want one that works good, try this. This one is the freebie, but they also have a paid version.

I would change my passwords for anything important such as bank accounts, e-bay accounts, or anything an attacker could use to make money from.

Further to my message re: your earlier Question, yes. Changing passwords would be extremely prudent and strongly advisable, IMO.

Not so. You do not need to purchase Snorton' Norton. AVG or avast are excellent free alternatives and are FAR less resource hungry.

On a side note, Google Toolbar is also an excellent pop-up blocker.

Dump IE and start using Firefox or Opera, if you aren't doing so already. They are more secure and less prone to infections: -
