Hi. I was driving my Altima last night and the engine shut off while I was sitting at a light and I couldn't get it started again. So, I had to push it off the road. There was over a quarter tank of gas, so I know I had plenty of gas. I kinda smelled a gas smell or something coming out of the car. The funny thing is, when I went to start it this morning, it started fine and I was able to get it home. My question is, does anyone know some of the things that might be causing this issue. Going to take it into the shop on Monday and I want be prepared for what they tell me. Thank you.

P0335 code and do you have a check engine light on now? Cranksahft posistion sensor circuit code. And only one part necessary to fix the problem. The crank sensor is on the back of the 2.5 liter engine down low near the transmission Bellhousing. You can do it your self but it is a pain in the "you know what" the first time. Remove 4 5mm allen head bolts take off the engine cover. remove the throttle chamber to air filter tube pull on the valve cover tube it will pull right off. now under the heater hoses posistion the drop light turned on. Now lean in and look straight down between the valve cover and the throttle chamber... Looking at the back of the engine now notice a gold colored 10mm bolt holding a black tab of a crank sensor. Now the fun begins look at the brake booster and move the spring clamp around counter clockwise. That bugger will open up your elbow. reach around the hoses push the green portion of the connector with your index finger really hard toward the front of the car and with the three remaining fingers pull gently on the wires. It takes index finger of steel to release the connector it will be full of oil (reason for the failure). Wash out the connector with brake cleaner and all around the green #+##+ piece. With a 1/4 drive 10 mm socket and 3 " extension remove the 10mm bolt it is 30mm overall leingth. then get the small slip joint pliers grab the tab or electrical connectot twist and pull off the hole in back of the engine. When reconnecting the wire connector with that +#+# green thing the sensor push hard you have to hear the green thing click and then the connector is locked in. Nissan will charge you approxmately 1.5 hours labor and $34 for the part

the fuel pump relay may have just shut it off on you, this has been known to happen ,for no reason, then they will start back up,if it was the fuel pump it probably wouldn't have started back up,but be sure and explain exactly how it done this so they know what to look for,the better you tell them what it done the more they,ll look for the problem, good luck with it hope this helps.

I would say maybe ur fuel pump was faulty and shut off. Then on again. It could also be the battery or alternator. If you had no lights and your whole system was down when you tried to start it then it was prob ur alternator/ battery
