Just my opinion but after reading about the Yom Kippur War also known as the Ramadan War or October War was settled by a cease fire on October 26, 1973. Israel suffered huge setbacks at the beginning but turned the tide against Syria and Egypt who deployed 300,000+ troops against them. Syrian/Egyptian forces suffered 12,000 killed, 25,000 wounded, 2300 tanks destroyed and 432 aircraft lost...Israel lost 2700 killed, 7500 wounded, 400 tanks destroyed but close to 600 battle damaged tanks were repaired and returned to service and also lost 100 aircraft. From a military material viewpoint, Israel won but Egypt & Syria were able to totally surprise Israel tactically and led to an overhaul of the Israel intelligence apparatus. I think it was pretty much a draw with no clear definitive winner.
Fallout from this conflict was Saudi Arabia who was financially supporting Egypt & Syria decided to cut oil production that month and singled out allies of Israel namely the US & Holland for their unflinching support of Israel during the war and when the US resupplied Israel with air flights through Holland (England, France & Germany refused to allow our aircraft to use their airfields) the oil embargo to the US & Holland began.
Good question, BTW.

permit's see The Arabs began the conflict, understanding that on the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur infantrymen would be fasting and praying. After making preliminary inroads the Arab armies have been quickly withdrawing. Israel on the counter offensive grow to be then waiting to flow into Syria, Egypt and Lebanon and grow to be in impressive distance of their capitals. Israel would have lost some land on the beginning up, yet regained it and much greater with the aid of the top. they might taken Cairo and Damscus if that they had chosen to. The Arabs observed as for a ceasefire and Israel granted it, as they have not have been given any pastime in controlling Arab land. So one (the Arabs) area starts the conflict, loses floor and begs for a ceasefire. the different area (Israel) is attacked surely good points floor and graciously accepts a ceasefire and returns the land won. It grow to be a decisive victory for the Israelis. 5 years AFTER the conflict, in 1978 a peace treaty grow to be signed between Egypt and Israel, the place Israel back the Sinai which that they had controlled considering that 1967. The Egyptians someway evaluate this as evidence that they won the Yom Kippur conflict in 1973, besides the fact that back then they ran with their tails between their legs.

If you are considering victory compared to abilities, I would say, Israel should have been able to do better in that war, still Egypt was able with its poor abilities then to do what it wanted after all whether be it retrieving its lands fully or making long lasting peace treaty. Former Egyptian Minister of Foreign affairs declared that it was never an Egyptian goal to invade Israel, the goal was to creat a new situation that can give Egyptian diplomacy a card to play with to retrieve the land, which, if we believe the minister, Egypt was able to do after all, most part was played by Egyptian diplomacy rather than military, the military just moved its forces to the other side of the Suez Canal, it didn't take over all Sinai peninsula, Syria had a different goal though, it wanted to invade Israel, it took heavy losses and wasn't able to advance much, but its diplomacy failed to retrieve the land because they didn't want to admit Israel as a country. unlike Sadat who traveled to Israel and did a speech at the Israeli House of Representatives. I would say Egypt won its lands back and retrieved peace and stability, Israel Won a peace treaty with Egypt and the first Arab country that would admit Israel has the right to exist which was followed by other Arab countries, Syria lost the soldiers and didnt retrieve the land.
One has to admit that Egypt was able to do a great job compared to its abilities by then even if it did not achieve a great advantage.
PS: Suez Canal is about 60 miles away from Cairo, the Egyptian capital, Israel was 60 miles away from capital before the war started :)

Egypt won and Syria won after they got Sinai back and they killed 10000+ solders of them when they lost 8500 and the Israelis lost over 320 air craft and Egypt lost 126 air craft and Israel lost 1000+ tand and Egypt lost 500, so I bleave the Arab side won
Egypt won in 1956 vs Israel , France and Braine
1967 Israel won by stealing Sinai
1973 Egypt won by taking Sinai back
And if any Israeli think that they are stronger then where is your navy? Ohh yeah u don't have one!! Egyptian brocke the peace treaty by sending ther 3rd army in Sinai in 2013 and they are still there, why are u not saying any thing? Oh yeah becuse u can't ?
And if u keep saying that u are enemies with all Arabs, becuse you made them your enimes by attacking them
They don't hate you becuse your Jews there is jews in Egypt and they live in peace with them but becuse you killed the palestineian people and you stole their land the one you flame it blong to the Jews that were kicked out of there, and it's true but you are not the same people that were kicked out + the Palestinians lived there more then any one even the Jews before them

For ?
I want to verify the War is about ( fair and square ) ,You have fought a war along with 6 countries a staunch support from the soviet and endless support from Gulf countries , America at that time were tired from Vietnam War financially , Furthermore when your family are fighting another neighbor and you have your family is 40 unit and theirs are 5 unit the chance of recruiting a tough guy in the battle favors the other side for example Israel have recruited 375 thousand in the war while Arab recruited more than a million , Let's Fake the truth and say you have recruited exactly 375 thousand from the 90 million ( pop of of both syria and Egypt at that time ) Chance of elite soldier favor your side , Me as a Russian I would like to say shame on you , the body's mentality and psychologically plays an important rule in staunching an aggressive attack , Do you think Your prophet when he attacked Jews with half their number , Until that time they are admitting one Defeat ,their defeat from the Prophet in his war
With Regards

War does not determine who wins and loses, but who remains, in this instances, of Yom Kippur War in 1973, there are still USA Egypt, Syria and unfair inclusion of USSR, hence there are no losers and winners. Therefore determination is that wars continue till there is one remaining and kicking! Charge forward, let better nation wins!

The answer is just like day and night......just imagine a tiny state, which was almost 22 years old fighting with the all of ARAB WORLD and the still succeeded in defending themselves and scoring against the aggressors...losing around 2500 live and inflicting the other side with almost 15,000 casualties....their forces were less by almost 100 folds and they still made it, even after intelligence let them down.....in KENYA we say our GOD is the GOD of ISRAEL...he has never forsaken us.
