Nipple Stimulation releases Oxytocin (the hormone that causes contractions.) I have also heard shrimp, pineapple, raspberry tea, and spicy foods all bring about contractions I dont know if thats a myth or not!!! Now, what worked for me, was taking my older son ot the park and swinging with him for about 10-15 minutes. ((not too high though)) then we went on a little walk and by 8 pm that night my water broke! I would try all the homeopathic methods, but stay away from herbs like black or blue cohosh it says they start contractions on alot of websites that i found when I was searching for an end to this very same dillemma but what it often does NOT say is herbs can cause serious heart problems for you and baby!! good luck.

First of all, don't stress about it, because EVERY woman who has ever been pregnant has gotten to the point of 'I'm SO ready to get this out of me!" - your baby is surely comfortable, and at least it's not crying yet. Enjoy this time. Honestly, just keep being patient and having lots of sex! Your orgasm and his both will initiate contractions, but in different ways, so just have great sex, and enjoy being able to take the time together before baby!! It'll be a while until you can once the baby is born.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but your baby will come out when it's ready. Don't try to rush it or it will endanger your baby's health. It's going to be soon though!! Don't fret--just think---you've gotten through all these weeks of waiting during your pregnancy--you can do it for a few more days--and it may not even be that long--you never know! I know you are uncomfortable and feel like utter crap--but letting nature do its thing is best--don't spend a healthy pregnancy to risk it now. Congratulations to you too!

You can't make it happen faster, but as you get closer your due date and start having contractions then the dilation should start getting farther along. If you try to artificially move the dilation process along then you may injure the baby. So time is the only thing that will help.

Our son was born on my birthday. My wife wanted so much to take me out before my birthday, and I was trying to get her to get ready to go to the hospital. She insisted on taking me to see the movie "Hollow Man", a thriller. Then, she took me to a coffee shop (decaf for her) after the movie. All the while, I was trying to convince her that maybe we should postpone festivities until after our son was born. She was in labor, and in denial. On the way back from the coffee shop, she turned to me and said, "Honey, you may want to turn the car around, I think my water broke". Our son was born the next day, on my birthday.
Out of this, I can recommend watching a thriller movie (Hollow Man worked for us.) and have some decaf coffee. Walking around helps too.

Only do this if you are full-term (39-40 weeks)
Walk a lot, (sounds silly but walk up and down stairs sideways...carefully!), have sex, eat pineapple, eat a spicy curry, do squats, go on all fours and rock back and forth.

There is nothing you can do. Ask your doctor to strip your membranes and this sometimes helps.
People say walk, have sex, and drink something but I forget what it is called. It dont really work, it is all old wise tales.

Nothing you can do except wait at this point. There's a REASON that it isn't progressing more quickly. You need to be patient and let nature work. Otherwise, you may cause injury to yourself and your child.
