Okay, so for homework I have to quote things from a book. In the example it shows "and bobby thought then blah blah." But I need to quote someone saying something. How would I do it? " ' quote' " or what?

"Bobby walked over to the table and said, 'I want to go too!' "

" ' We should go to the store to get a hat for her.' "

Those things.

I know what citations are, and I don't need to know how to do those. I need to know if ^ is right, with the bobby stuff on the details.

According to ??????? " Bobby thought......."
In brackets you would then write the name of the book, author and page number, e.g. (Bobby's book, Bill Bobby, 2005).

If you need help with quoting, I don't suggest putting"blah, blah" in your question, because people like myself won't be able to understand how to answer your question!

I would use quotation marks as follows'

If somebody speaks you would type it

Bobby said "Hi there, how are you doing?"

If you are quoting you would say

And Bobby said to me 'Hi there, how are you doing?'
