Is it strange that I prefer to speak French over my natural English? My MSN is in French, my mobile phone is too, I make notes in it, I only read L'Equipe and Le Monde if it's available, I even keep time during bass practice, all in French!
Seriously, do I need help of some sort??

No you do not need help but I fear the French language may do.
I live in France and I notice many things here use English. Lots of shop signs, road signs (‘Parking’ for example and ‘Stop’).

The French are passionate about their language and ironically this is what is killing it. Almost all the French people I know listen ONLY to British and US music. They watch English TV (Lets face it French TV and radio are pretty grim). They then profess to hate the English language.

Perhaps this is due to the fact that English is a developing language and French is stagnant, even dying. Their very determination not to have it corrupted means it does not evolve. (Don’t mistake the use of English as evolution).

English absorbs French, Russian, German and other languages and is enriched by them. French is a very limited language and is… frankly… dying.

The fact you use it so much is excellent… The French have no idea what they have and will not till it is too late. The same can be said for their old houses which they allow to fall apart whilst they built awful little bungalows.

The French do not deserve France.

French is a beautiful language, and to English ears it sounds almost musical. I fully understand why you like it as a musician. The more you use it, the more fluent you will become.

its a very useful skill to have 2 languages, you can make alot of money out of it. not strange at all to prefer french - you've done well to learn fluent french so why not use it!

I find that fascinating. I don't think anything's wrong with perfering french, it's just strange that it would be easier.
