Liberals hate him because he is on so many stations and has so many listeners (more than any of their shows could ever get). Rush does have his followers who will call or vote that way the show pushes but he also has those who listen to him to just get the conservative view which is not found on major television networks or newspapers. Before Rush and the his like on the radio (Hannity, Beck, Savage) came about most conservative thought less people had their views on major issues. Rush and the rest of conservative radio gave listeners the courage to speak up on their views and to become more diligent in challenging liberals and liberal candidates. They also have become more confident in challenging so called conservatives (RINOS) in the Republican base on issues like immigration. Liberals do fear the power that talk radio has generated in conservatives so they fear the truth that conservatives believe in. That is why things like the Fairness doctrine is being pushed by the far left again to try to close down the conservatives means of communication in the media.

I voted for Reagan and Bush Sr. ... I was an independent until I discovered Rush Limbaugh. Someone who could spew such biased fear and hatred could not possibly be good for this country. This put me "in-tune" to who the Republicans really are and I've fought them ever since. There has to be millions of other people who feel exactly as I do.
In Florida about five years the news channels picked up the fact that were a dramatic increase in sharks cruising the beaches. Rush Limbaugh managed to blame this on the Democrats ... saying that that the Democrat's environmental protection initiatives were allowing sharks to flourish. The pompous bastard is a joke ... anyone capable of independent thought would see though him in an instant.

Rush is a font of disinformation whom thinking people who are not necessarily "liberal" disdain. A propagandist with carefully culled and lopsided half-truths, most of which are easily challenged and disproved by anyone who bothers to examine the statements at their roots.
Rush has grown very wealthy since the abolition of the Fairness in Broadcasting doctrine in 1987 which opened the door to political propaganda and allowed him to say anything without rebuttal. There is little doubt Rush would not have survived 20 years on the air if his broadcasts were consistently challenged. This is evident in his home market of West Palm Beach when Randi Rhodes broadcasted opposite Rush and his ratings fell into the toilet.
Rush is a commentator and clearly the voice of one political party. He is not a journalist, nor does he claim to be, yet people, not understanding the difference between opinion and news, cite his blatherings as truth.
When he cannot fake an intelligent argument he labels and demeans with potty humor worthy of a 12 year old. When someone who doesn't agree with him manages to get through his call line screening, he cuts them off and in extreme cases, edits and plays their comments in a negative way with his voice override.
Women and ethnic groups are often the butt of his "humor."
The worst of it is he is among the propagandists who have been able to engender hate amongst Americans who never hated each other before, and separate them into Red-Blue, Dem-Rep, Liberal-Conservative camps.
United we stand. Divided we fall. Think about it.

No its not truth we fear. Limbaugh doesn't tell the truth. See the sources below for evidence.
However, it's not even his inaccurate and sloppy use of facts that bothers me most. What bothers me most is that he can't keep debate on a civil political level. He turn everything into personal attacks.
I haven't listened to him in years, but things he did that left me with no respect for him whatsoever were his attacks on Chelsea Clinton. At that time she was a child who we saw pretty much at obligatory events and didn't speak to the press much. He was ruthless in the way he attacked her for things like her looks and her general existence. She wasn't a fair target then. It was mean and uncouth.
Rush is also a big, big hypocrite. He is against drug treatment and for jail time for everyone but him. He has not changed his stance and will still say any one charged on a drug offense should go to jail and not rehab. If he had discovered he was wrong I would think he learned something. However, apparently there is one standard for the rest of the world and one for him.

The funniest area of it is, think that Rush meant that each and all the warriors have been faux. the place John Kerry come from whilst he says Rush could make an apology, Kerry comes lower back from Vietnam, joins the Vietnam Vets against the conflict and then testifies against each American soldier on an identical time as we nevertheless have POW's being held. fortuitously, Rush became into speaking of one soldier that he pronounced as faux, those faux infantrymen are, i think, liberal media vegetation which at the instant are not genuine infantrymen they stand in and supply interviews that help the liberal media. Sorry LIBS Rush became into stunning and that i'm not even considered one of his followers even though it does amaze me which you all think of it rather is alright to bash Bush and our armed forces leaders given it is unfastened speech yet whilst a conservative calls some one a faux soldier, that may not.

No, we fear that people are gullible and judging by his large audiences, perfectly willing to believe his lies. He makes up facts, and repeats stuff from right wing blogs who make up their facts.
Limbaugh lied about 9-11 Commission report
Limbaugh falsely claimed "Nobody ever said there was" a connection between Iraq, 9-11 attacks
Limbaugh misrepresented Duelfer report on Iraqi WMDs
Limbaugh lied about AIDS
Limbaugh overstated the minimum wage
Limbaugh made false claims about the Democratic National Convention
Limbaugh distorted the Kyoto Protocol
Limbaugh falsely accused Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA)
Limbaugh claimed Clintons are funding Swift Boat Veterans for Truth
Limbaugh lied to defend Swift Boat Vets
Limbaugh misstated Pew report on journalists
It is very sad that people believe him. I wish people would think for themselves a little.

The truth? yeah this is a person that ripped Billy Clinton apart for not being truthful and forthcoming, yet when Rush gets caught prescription shopping, he hides behind lawyers and the left wing conspiracy. I'm a conservative, but I won't support someone that preaches one thing and practices another.

Rush Limbaugh doesn't deal in truth. He deals in talking points, rhetoric, slander and liberal bashing. The sad part is that it's nothing but low brow entertainment, but those conservatives that listen to him glom onto every word he utters like he's reading from the Bible. He's disliked by every one but conservatives because his brand of poison is rejected by everybody but them.

No... I personally don't think he is truthful but I don't fear him... I just turn the dial, he's too much of a blowhard.
But I don't care if you listen to him. If you like him then just listen but dont ask me to.
