Having a very hard time stomaching the 4 stories a day PR drive at the moment. This morning it was "We will do lie detector test" even though the Portugeuse police don't use those on suspects. They, with SupaMcLawyer will have known that and it is the only reason they said it, then the story turns in to "Poor McCanns - the police won't let them have a lie detector test" when they never were going to do it in the first place. If they were happy to do a lie detector test they would just arrange it themselves, they don't have to be invited. It's all horrible and tacky and nasty. We are now officially not AntiMcCanns, we are ProMaddie's. I think we need to desist from using the Anti because everytime I see it written in a question I can feel my blood pressure rising.

Surely by keeping Maddy's picture in the paper will keep her image in everyones thoughts so that when they are on holiday (or indeed living in whatever country) if someone sees a child resembling their daughter they will have a clear memory of what she looks like and what could be deemed as suspicious behaviour
I can understand the other side that by having such a huge press presence may scare the kidnapper(s) into doing something stupid, which may not have been their intention form the outset.
I feel ill when people can be so callous about what they think the family are doing wrong, but how do you know you would not do the same in their shoes. I am am not going to go into how she was taken, I have my own opinions on them being left alone and with the family suffering so much heartbreak I know they will be feeling guilt every day, do you not think that's a big enough burden for them to carry without pointing the finger.
Lots of parents (in fact I may be bold enough to say every parent) makes a mistake at some point in their children's upbringing, but the vast majority of us "get away with it" and live to tell the tale.
If something truly awful has happened to gorgeous Maddy will you people be saying it serves the parents right? I hope not.................they made a mistake, and they know it and will feel guilt for ever more

They are not that smart remember they neglected their own daughter. How can that make them intelligent? But I do agree with eveything they say. On Y!A we know that but I wish the parents would get their heads out of the clouds and realise things are far from alright.

I really don't know why but every time I see those two on television, I really feel sorry for the family of Ben Needham who was abducted all those years ago. They never had all this support and media interest when their boy went missing! They must be devasted as every year they return to the last place he was seen and there is not one bloody newspaper that reports it!

I agree! They should not have left the children alone. Sleeping or not! But if I was them, I would use every source possible to get the word out and get her picture out there. The more people that see it, the more likely she is to be found!

I don't agree with your view that the more media attention they have the greater chance she will come back dead.
