OK...your tank is crashing!!! You didn't state how many gold fish you have, but you need to remove them right away! Gold fish produce way to much ammonia and your tank is having problems cycling! Do fresh water changes (a half tank) once to twice a day or you are going to have even more fish die! You can keep your fish living and get it cycled faster by the fresh water changes. BUY A BOOK! I recommend The simple guide to Freshwater AQUARIUMS. And read it!

Did you dechlorinate the water before putting it in the tank? You can get special stuff to do it but you have to take the fisk out first and leave it to work for a couple of hours.

Maybe the tank was too small for that many fish. 25 fish - unless they're very small, like guppies or something - require a VERY large tank. They might be dying of oxygen starvation through overcrowding.

Goldfish are not warmwater fish, warm water will shorten the lifespan of Goldfish durastically. Remova all your Goldfish and get them into some water that is room temperature (a large CLEAN bucket). If your heater is freaking out , remove it for a little bit until the tank cools. If you have a space heater, try using that to keep your tank stable for a while... Good luck!

If the temperature is right and the nutrition and lightweight are perfect, i could say you likely used water from the faucet that has multiple chemical factors in it to maintain the micro organism down and this kills the fish. I even have had to apply bottled water whilst setting up a tank. do no longer positioned an ice cube in there turn the heater down regardless of if it is in simple terms too heat.

Water temp should be around 78 deg F. Aslo, when you started the tank, did you add some chemicals to "clean/.treat" the water out of the tap? Tap waqter has alot of clorine in it, this my be the reason they are dieing.

well.... have you cycled your tank prior to adding the fishes... one of the most important things that owners forget is to cycle their tanks... it is important to grow bacterias (good ones) in the tank. secondly ammonia, nitrite, nitrate levels should be perfect for the fish.. .also temperature and ph levels... have you tested your water prior to admistration of the fish...

we cannot do anything about the dead fishes but we can still save the other fishes.
1. assess the condition of your water
2. assess the condition of your fishes (ich, columnaries, backward/sideway swimming (bladder swim px) or any other unusual events)
3. assess the tank if there are flukes, worms, etc.
4.------------------------------ treat all Impending problems...----------------------

good luck to you and to your fishes... hope they do not die...=)

there could be a fungal infection or ick (maybe not spelled right) going around.
