Forest rangers don't last long on the job,they either get attacked by bears or mountain lions,or shot by poachers, or hit by lightning and die from their wounds.

They go a smidge deeper into the forest, away from the tourists, the gift shops, closer than the lay public would be safe going, but the principle is the same as our relaxation.
