No. You could get social security disability if you were disabled but that doesn't sound like the case. To get social security you have had to work 40 quarters of jobs that paid into Social security and be 67 1/2 year old. (I may be off on the age it hase been raised numerous times).

You'd have to be permanently disabled. Quite frankly, you won't like what I have to say but it is the truth. You have a felony conviction. In this society, you aren't worth anything until you prove it all over again. You are nothing but a liability to the majority of employers, and they don't have time to spend learning whether you are any good when they can get 10 others that don't have a conviction. I suggest that you apply for low end jobs and work your way up. McDonalds is actually a good place to start. The pay tends to be hire than at other places, the schedules more flexible, and you can go into management even if you have a felony conviction. You just can't start out as a manager.

Only if you are disabled and you don't seem disabled. You committed a crime and as part of that crime you have to suffer the consequences. My step son is having the same problem. He spent 3 years in prison and now he can't even get a job with McDonald's (can't say I blame them). I have a business too and I once hired an ex con and he stole money, jewelry and a gun from me. I'll never do that again.
Guess you'll just have to keep looking for a job cause you're not going to get SS at 20.

The only way to obtain SS before retirement age is with Social Security disability which must be for a valid physical or mental disorder that a physician documents precludes you from working. In your case there is no way that would apply.

each state has a program that is state sponsored. it is usually called 'workforce commission' or 'work source'. it is a place where you can get help finding a job. they will have a list of every place in your area that will hire if you have a felony conviction.
generally places that hire w/ felony convictions are construction, meat processing plants, uniform services, other food processing companies, etc...........check your phone book in the govt listings pages under state....it will have the place listed there with the address/phone number of the local office.
SSI/SSD and other welfare programs are generally closed to convicted felons and it is a very lengthy process.
it IS possible to get a good paying job with felony convictions. i have several hundred convicted felons listed with my department who all have jobs.

Depending on the employer they usually won't hire people with criminal records other than traffic violations especially if they are felonies. Depending on how much in social security taxes you have paid and how much money is in your bank account you may be able to get disability but that's about it.

How about you turn your life around. Go get a certification in a field. You messed up and you have to prove yourself to the world now. Armed robbery, attempted or succeeded, is a BAD thing.
No, you are not eligible for SS. Deal with the consequences of your actions and get yourself together.

Sadly, companies don't realize why past criminals are forced to return to a life of crime. They are denied jobs and end up having either starve to death or rob someone in order to survive. If someone makes a mistake and then are willing to rectify that mistake and attempt to get a job in regular society, shouldn't that person be treated like everyone else? I'm sorry you are going thru this and I wish you the best.

Duh. You're a felon. Best start learning how to run a lawn mower and weed whacker and get buddy-buddy with the illegals.
