This is a classic fishing scam to obtain your identity. At some stage you will be asked to fill in information and then you will have been baited. He may also request a small payment soon, which should really put you off. The best approach is to treat these people like human spy-ware: ignore and delete. Have no further communication as they will inevitably lead you to releasing some vulnerable information that they can use against you. A real buyer will behave like you would in the same situation.

It sounds like a scam to me too Honey. If you really want to sell your game system, sell it on somewhere like Ebay where you can have the money paid to you via PayPal or NoChex or something like that. At least that way you are guaranteed the money and you don't post the item until you have the money in your account so you are protected.
Cancel the sale, just tell him you changed your mind.

If you think it's a scam, it's a scam. Don't send the game and if they send a money order or cashier check don't cash it. There is list of numbers on Craigslist to contact. Here is the link . . .

"So i will like you to help me transfer this money to your account and " Big time S-C-A-M ! ! ! You better be glad that you didn't send any money! People like that make my blood boil! They mess it up for everyone else living there because people will stereotype everyone there! This is what I did everytime I got a spam email like that. I told them that I knew someone who worked for the FBI, and that I was going to forward the email to him if they sent me more scamming email. Then I cussed them out. End of email from that criminal! I later found a government website to report the criminals to, and now when I get crap like that, I forward straight to the government. I'm on a mission to stop criminals like that!

It is a scam! They make fake money orders etc. You get them and send the item thinking it is "all good" and when you go to get your money ie cash check or money order you are out of luck. If you are somehow able to get it cashed you are stuck with repaying the cash and extra charges. He walks because he is in another country.
Andrea
P.S. It happens all of the time.

I'd back out of this
If he's really buying for a friend - why doesn't he take delivery and he can send it to his friend himself.
It doesn't cost $3000 to send a game system - he's going to ask you to send him back the difference, and the check or money order he sends will be bogus.
You'll be out your system, your money, everything.
