What if you woke up one day and it was 1957? Also, you would be the same age you are now.

When I say "same age now", I mean in 2007.

I would go outside and have so much fun, with all of my friends, and my kids, and go do whatever we wanted to because back then this world was such a better place, it was much safer then. In real life I wouldn't have even been in existence yet though! My parents would be both 17 years old, my Dad had a very bad childhood, so some things would be sad though. In other ways it would be great though because I never got to know my grandparents much, that would have been agreat time to have known them, when they were younger and in better health. I missed out on so much in my life where they were concerned, cancer took my grandmother away from me at a very young age, if she'd have stuck around my life would have been alot different I'm sure. Nice to dream though I guess...................

I was only three back then, but it seems as if the world didn't move at such a frantic pace. I certainly wouldn't miss cell phones and text messaging and all the other "electronic leashes" that have a stranglehold on us these days.

Television was in its formative years then, and it was a lot sweeter and more innocent than it is now. And I know for a fact that food tasted better before we were all bent out of shape about preservatives and additives and cholesterol.

Things weren't perfect by any stretch, but I think I'd enjoy the chance to see the 1950's again from an adult perspective.

This is something to ponder. If I was 46 in 1957. This means I would have been born in 1911. No thank you. Life wasn't a piece of cake back then for Black people. I don't think I would be half the woman I am now... back then. I feel a person can only be exposed and subjected to so much racism... descrimination and emotional abuse. I thank God I came when I did and I will never question the process. 30 years ago when I saw ROOTS I made the remark to my parents... " I couldn't have lived back then. They would have killed me." In response my parents replied... " God knew the right time for you to be born." I believed then and I still do that I am exactly where I need to be....

I'd be freaking out, if I saw myself among the kids back then. I was a sophmore in high school then.
