In general, I feel the journalists of today are just mouthpieces for someone or their own ideology. They seem to think their job is to convert the world to their way, not just report all sides and facts.
It is so bad even when a mainstream media agrees with me, I don't believe them and get on the web to get more information.

No one is truly "objective", we all have different values that shape our understanding of what is important and irrelevant and what is good versus what is bad.
Furthermore, what would a truly objective viewpoint look like? From a truly objective viewpoint thousands dying on 9/11 is of no greater significance than the breakfast cereal I picked this morning. We only realize 9/11 has greater significance when we start to apply biases to reality (it is important to speak about things that cause mass suffering, not so important to talk about my cereal).
Blaming journalists for being biased is ridiculous; their job is to impose order on a series of events by creating a coherent framework by which to analyze those events (what are the relevant facts? How do they relate to one another?) and it is impossible to do that without having some initial framework from which to begin.
So yes, journalists are biased. So are you. So am I. That's a good thing. It keeps us from just rotting away in a state of total apathy (which, according to my biases would bad). Of course there is a need to try to understand these biases and competing interpretations, and that is why it is important to seek out divergent points of view.

As a general rule....no. Most journalists today (fyi... 9 of 10 support democrats) think their job is to change the world, as opposed to what their real job description is.......to report accurately what actually happened
That is why more and more people are turning to talk radio, the internet, and Fox News for their info, which drives democrats into an apoplectic fit. Thus, you now have democrats trying to silence conservatives in the media via anti - 1st amendment legislation such as the so-called Fairness Doctrine.

Since before Vietnam the so called journalists have been very opinionated. The facts are only what they want the people to believe so long as it is what they tell the people!
Now it is just getting worse!

Journalists, depending on who employs them (if they are) will have different slants.
Most media outlets have some bias, but those journalists who are self-employed or working for nothing tend to have straight, un-biased answers because they do it for the passion...and not for the money.

Journalists get their money and promotions based upon the value of their stories. Headlines and scandals are their meat and potatoes and bad news sells more than good news.

no one may well be thoroughly impartial. it is the reason maximum information agencies used to hire different editors to take bias out of comments and save it information. Now an editor's job is to strengthen scores at many shops.
