The first day of my last period was May 17, I got a bladder infection around the 18th of June that has pretty much gone away w/amox; I had it for a few days, I'm usually a regular 28 days, I know that bladder infections can delay my period, but I'm 9 days late now. 2 Negative Preg Tests. I have very minor cramps that come and go. What are some thoughts?

I would see the Dr. I had around the same thing happen to me. I had a bladder infection back in May around the 16 my period was due on the 27 but .. what I thought was it coming and only lasting a day in April was actually implantation bleeding. It had thrown my cycle of by a week and I had ovulated a week before I was supposed to. Now I am 13 weeks and 3 days pregnant. Good luck

At home tests can sometimes have false negatives, especially really early on or have not missed your period by 10-15 days, so if you are still not starting your period by the middle of next week, I would see your doctor. I have never heard of a bladder infection delaying your period...but you should also take in consideration when you had unprotected sex to determine how far along you could be...

You're right, the bladder infection certainly could have affected your cycle. It could also be responsible for the negative pregnancy tests. I always get cramps when I get my period, but also had light cramping during my second pregnancy. Make sure your bladder infection is completely cured and have your doctor run a pregnancy test if you don't want to wait another month. Best wishes.

i was not aware that a bladder infection can alter your periods? i think it more likely that the infection may be hampering the HPT's if you are preg, or there may not yet be enough hormone for the test to pick it up. if you have had problems in this area, the infection, then i would get back to the GP asap if i were you - especially if you do want to get pregnant and if theres a prob. better sorted sooner than later..
lots of luck

You could be pregnant but the minor cramps don't usually occur with a pregnancy. Your body may decide to give you a little trouble for this month and start the cycle over next month.

If you are concerned, see a doctor or wait another week and try another test. You are on the right track though in regards to the infection have effects on your body.

Hmmm. Well, your uterus and your bladder are next door neighbors. If your uterus is swollen due to the approaching period, it may be aggravating your already tender bladder. Or vice versa... your irritated bladder could be annoying your tender uterus. Either way, I would encourage you to follow up with the doc that gave you the amoxi. Another urine test may be warranted as well as a blood test for pregnancy; the amoxi may not be strong enough to clear the UTI up. Next step is Macrobid. Good luck.

Take a blood test. It will tell you if you are pregnant. Also, by this stage urine pregnancy tests are still unreliable.

And don't worry about the amox you took. There is nothing that you can do about it (and I think, I think it has not negative effects in such early stage).

Good luck!

I have 5 boys and I got preg around the same time I was sick. Antibiotics are the devils work...lol First of all you need to stop worrying. Stress will make your body do crazy things.
