Israel invaded Lebanon in the 1980s going after the PLO who were launching terror attacks against Israel & they were using Lebanon as a sanctuary so Israel sent an enormous conventional military force into Lebanon. They had some success but a lot of failure as well, it became a stalemate, if became a hugely unpopular war at home (& abroad) & after nearly 10 years they left w/o a victory. And what did Israel learn, you CAN'T win a war on terror w/ a conventional military & they learned that lesson again w/ Hezbollah last summer.
It does not take a military geniue to figure that out & even someone w/ a limited a mental capacity as Bush's can figure it out. So there can be only one reason that Bush is still in Iraq & that's that he won't except defeat while he's in office & by using US troops to do that is criminal.

i'm not sure Israel is expert in this at all. Look at their most recent results.
For long term effectiveness, it seems clear to me that the best current regime is China. How many terrorist incidents do you hear of in China?
None. Chinese policy is simple and clear. They kill terrorists. They do not bargain. And they are willing to let civilians die on the way if they must.
Further, any community that harbors terrorists in China would come under immediate and huge police and/or military pressure. Again, civilian damages and or deaths would be accepted and not even reported as 'news'.

I agree with you on the first part, the Palestinian State, but I do not agree with second part "insanity will stop"
1) a Palestinian State will definitely help in defusing some of the tension, but there is more to accomplish, the Arabs are not only angry because of Palestine, they are also angry for
2) supporting the dictators in the Middle East who are by all reports all violating the simplest human rights of their people (Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, All the Gulf Governments, Yemen, Tunisia and Sudan.
3) The US and Europe need also to push very hard towards changing the education curriculum in all the Arab World (and use sanctions if necessary), such curriculum that teaches hate and rejection of the others and I mean all the others... after doing those three things simultaneously, then the insanity will stop... this I believe

in the beginning dubya wasn't in a position in any respect through fact there is not any conflict on terror-this complete conflict is staged and their are multiple questions unanswered. the government.says they have been pursuing weapons of mass destruction-what! weapons of mass destruction!? You even had bush flow on checklist and say that the weapons of mass destruction subject grow to be a mistake with the aid of the government. this complete conflict is a rip-off-why! are we there? to make the wealthy richer, and for stupid motives. whenever you mess with a guy's funds like firms are doing with extreme gasoline expenses and unemployment it makes you question only approximately each little thing and the lies the government.and friends are spreading dont make any experience.

Thank God you're not in charge of anything that's military. It's easy to see you know nothing about real life and the military. A common foot soldier knows more than you'll ever know and your views on what is criminal or not is terribly skewed. If you were to join the military, you might get a small inkling of what it right but I highly doubt it.

Israel has the great ability in playing chess with the countries of world.
Israel is threatened on many sides by Muslim extremists, but have learned to get others to fight the battles.
USA had Iraq covered, the UN now covers Lebanon, nearer to home they have Arabs fighting Arabs in Palestine, brilliant .
Even quitting Iraq will result in civil war, Arabs killing Arabs, then later step back in.
I doubt if Israel has nuclear weapons, no real value, just let people believe you have them.

I fear that Bush and his advisors are incapable of learning from other's experiences or even thier own.
Israel tried to use military force against a state that was supporting terrorist activities and had very limited, short term success. The long term effect is now veyr visible to the world at large but Bush and company can't see it.

Of couse he learned from Israel! The guys who wrote the policy (Wolfowitz, Perle, Feifth, Wurmser ect) for invading Afganistan, Iraq, Iran and Syria are all Zionists with dual American Israeli citizenship.
