On Windows XP: under tools go to Internet options then delete browsing history.

In your browser, click Tools and then Internet options. In the Internet Options window, under "Browsing history", click "Settings". In the "Temporary Internet Files and History" window, under "History", set the "Days to keep pages in history" , set to 0.

Close this window, and then in "Internet Options", under "Browsing History", click "Delete".

That should clear your Internet history and keep it clean.

What Lloyd said is one way. It also clears up temporary files.

If your using Internet Explorer:
Right Click on the icon and look for Clear history/cookies.

For FireFox:
Tools > Clear Private Data.

In firefox,
go to Tools->Clear Private Data
and click 'Clear Private Data now'.tick[check] all what you want.

In IE
Go to Tools->Internet Options->General
and click 'Clear History'.
but i prefer delete files and cookies also.
