I have a purely orange polo shirt, but I have nothing else in my wardrobe close to that color (yellow?), and I'm worried about putting it with my whites (I have very few darks that need washing) and having it put a tinge of orange in all my clothes (from what I've heard and seen in TV). Do I have no choice but to wash it separately, or is it still ok to put it in with the rest of the wash?

I'd turn it inside out, wash it in cold water with neutral colored things (eg, tan and Khaki colored pants, shirts). If you have nothing else like that, or need to wash it more often, you might consider getting some woolite and washing it by hand.

Before you wash it, dissolve about a cup of table salt in barely warm water (enough to sink the shirt into) and let it soak for a few hours. The salt will helpt to "set" the color. I'd was it separately until I was sure it would not bleed onto other clothes. . .

First check the label.. washing instructions should be listed there.. Then I would wash with the dark not the white clothes in case it did bleed a little.. cold water works best..

Wah it separate the first few times and then wash it with med colors. It shouldn't run after its been washed a couple of times and only use cold water.

I'd wash it alone the 1st time... or hand was it first before you put it in the washer. Wash it with your other bright colors and use Cheer for bright colors. Make sure you use COLD water only!

Wash in cold water with darker colors that won't bleed through (newer clothes do this). If you want to keep the color longer, use a color preserver, like clorox for colors, to keep it fresher longer. Also, don't dry polo shirts on hot settings in your dryer, they really shrink up. I would hang it dry or use a cold setting on your dryer. :)

wash it separately the first time in cold water and check to see if it bleeds. if it does not then go ahead and wash it with your other things like the yellow shirt. it will be fine.
