Use a "life preserver" to sit on. It has handles, for easy moving and storage. It's large enough to accommodate most butts, is water resistant and cleans easily.

They sell garden seats at your local hardware that is on wheels. If you don't want to spend the money, use a chair pad from your dining table or even a towel. :)

Use a grubbing hoe to dig out the "taters" and then all you do is pick them up, no need to sit down.

I have a thick soft pad called a knee pad I bought at a home center, would work just as well for a butt.
