Last I heard she had been seen in South Africa riding Shergar on Lord Lucan's estate.

The people in Malta didnt think to report it for up to six hours after the event as it didnt really sink in it may have been Madelaine until afterwards.
I feel sorry for anyone from the UK and places like sweden who may be on holiday at the moment as there are many little girls from these countries who have blonde hair and blue or green eyes and may just look like her a bit. I expect there will be a few cases of mistaken identity and a lot of upset parents trying to enjoy holidays horrified that someone may think their child is Madelaine and the consequences of what may happen. I am sure most people wouldnt mind the inconvenience of a mistaken identity for obvious reasons but what a disruption.

Good point i thought the exact same thing.
Because i know if i had of spotted a child who i thought could have been madeline i would gone over and looked at her eyes to see if the child had the marking on one of her eyes that madeline has got.
Because even if it wasn't madeline im sure the parents of the other child wouldn't be too botherd about you looking as im sure just about every parent knows by now who madeline is.

Frankly, I'm very sceptical about these so called sightings.
Why would a kidnapper who was able to make Madeleine vanish into thin air parade her around a small island so that 15 people could spot her? And why has not one of these people, as far as I'm aware, not taken a phot of her?

And what would happen if they had grab her and her not Madeleine, then we would have another child kidnapped. It would be better for the ones doing the investigation if they could find out if it is her first and if it is then do something. Taking a child like that doesn't work and you could end up in more bother.

You have to think of safety on this one anyone could get hurt or even killed, its got to be done properly.Maybe if someone sees her, they keep a eye on her call the police and stay there till they arrive.Maybe follow her this could lead to her location. But goin in all guns blazing could lead to death either them or her.

because people do not want to just walk off with another child. There are probably thousands of children who look like her, I mean, at that age to a stranger they may look similar, especially as the posters mostly have poor photographs (and are in english, even though most people in the country(s) don't speak english...) . People don't want to make that mistake.
she's probably dead by now, anyway (if the parents didn't kill her).

why do people say they would grab her and run, as if the kidnapper is going to just stand there letting you do that or release maddy for u to do that. also u gonna carry maddy while running or run slowly with maddy while the kidnapper chasing you. wouldnt it be better to immediately call for help from security or locals/passers by and tell people to stop them.

you know i ask myself this question everytime i hear of another sighting. if it was me, i would grab her n run - if i saw her in a car i would phone the police n follow the car....common sense would say, try to communicate with her, get close up to see if it really is her. pray for madeline that one day someone will find this poor little girl - bring maddie home xxxx
