EASY, just connect the monitor cable connector to the laptop's VGA port (usually blue). Then switch to dual monitors or either monitor by pressing Fn key plus F5 or F7.

Yes you can....
Most laptops have a vga connector, (usually on the back of the laptop, and marked with a small screen next to it), for external monitors. Once connected, there is a function key (usually marked Fn) that acts very much like a shift key for special functions on the keyboard. By holding down the function key and pressing the F7 key on a t30 for instance, the monitor functions can be turned on and off.
In your manual for your laptop, all the special function keys should be listed, including your monitor key.

Almost all laptops, especially those made within the last few years, have the ability to connect an external display, such as a CRT monitor, flat panel display, or Projector, and have the display sent to that device instead of to the laptop display.
Connect the monitor, flat panel, or projector to the laptop's 15-pin video connection on the back of the computer as shown to the right. Once connected, your laptop may automatically switch to the new external display or you may be required to press a sequence of keys in order to switch from the laptop to the external display.
