I just went to the doctor yesterday and she said I was easily 2cm dialated, 50% effaced, and the baby's head was in a -1 postion. This is my 3rd child...With my first I walk around 2cm dialated for a while, and with the second I do not remember (isnt that terrible). I am 36 weeks right now. I would love to hear other peoples stories and comments on how fast they went into labor after they started dialating, became effaced, and the baby dropped.

It could still be 10 to 14 days....

My daughter was due on the 5th of the month... on the 20th of the previous month she was told she was 3 cm and could have the baby at anytime. The doctor said he would be surprised if she carried beyond the 25th. Well she finally went into the labor on the 10th, five after the original due date.... Her first two pregnancies were 8 days beyond her due date.

Unless you are having active labor the doctors can't really say for sure how fast you are going to continue to dilate and continue to efface...

Just go with the flow!

Well since this is number three for you.. you know the signs. Diarhhea, craving starches, feeling really pressured in your vagina. I went two weeks dialated with both of my children. With one I was 4 cm, 50%, and -2 and with the other I only got to two cm, 10%, -1. The weird part is that the one who didn't do nearly as much dropping came faster. That mucus plug that is so gross is a sure sign! I know you are so uncomfortable! Try swimming, walking and hot baths until your membranes rupture. I walked more than 4 miles the day I had my daughter. With my first child I was in labor forever (lol) 39 hours. With my second child I was only in labor for 3 hours...what a blessing. You are in good shape though because you know how to push. Don't hesistate to go to the hospital when the contractions begin because this one may go really quickly for you. Those kids really have a mind of their own even as a fetus though don't they! Good luck and enjoy the time you have left without feeding someone every two hours.

With my first child I went in at 10pm and didnt have her until 10am the next morning all back pain and did not diallate very quickly. With my second child i walked around 6cm dialalted for about 2 weeks I tried everything to go into labor, I went 4wheeling, played football, nothing seemed to put me into labor, and then my husband said well sex got us into this lets see if it will get you out of it, and i thought what the hell; lol maybe it will work and it did with in 15 minutes i was in labor, went to the hospital, and it stopped. They later induced me and still nothing, He just didnt want to come out 12 hours later he finally arrived. LOL so you can never tell when your going to go, when the baby is ready to come out i guess. Good Luck and Congrats! :)
