A baby with an IQ of 152 has become the youngest member to join MENSA.

Is there a limit to human intelligence....will this baby grow up to become expotentially more intelligent than 99% of other humans or will her intelligence reach a certain limit and then just plateau off and she would only be of above average intelligence rather than extremely exceptionally intelligent?

The limit to human intelligence would be its existence.

IQ is a measure of the capability of an individual mind to do reasoning and thinking. Most likely this child will grow to be an adult with an IQ of around 150, generally considered genius. That would put you in the top 99.9% of the population by that measure. In a city of a million people, that's still a thousand people. You probably know some. That level of intelligence is a valuable gift, I hope they use it well.

Generally intelligence doesn't increase or decrease. Using and developing it makes it more useful to you and keeps it sharp, but doesn't really increase it.

The average intelligence of the human race has the potential to increase over generations. I don't know of any particular limit to that.

Of course there is a limit to human intelligence ... have you seen some of the questions posted on Yahoo Answers?

Of course, those are considered to be at the lower limits of human intelligence and even the use of the word 'intelligence' is questionable...

I believe the tests are generally geared to allow for age variants, so a child with an IQ of 152, will potentially become an adult with an IQ of 152.
That is of course if you believe in IQ tests.

There is a difference between intelligence and knowledge.

Many people today have accumulated too much knowledge or education for their level of intelligence.

There is a limit to our intelligence, but maybe not to our knowledge.

There is a limit, but I don't know how much it is. The human brain is only a finite amount of tissue, with a finite (albeit MASSIVE amount of neuron connections). So there is a limit to what it can hold, but even geniuses today only use a small amount of their brain, so there is a long way to go yet til we reach a limit!

I think that IQ measuring is not the even or final system to measure one's intelligence. It is unlimited but in most cases its flow run through jig-jug and in the most cases it go down like a kite. Reverse process may also occur.

the limit is only created by those that set the tests. IQ tests have not changed since they were invented. Human intelligence is finite but so is the universe. yes i mean finite.

human intelligence like this baby, actually has no limit to comprehend knowledge, but considering the limiting factor such as memory and knowledge absorbed, the limited intelligence is most expected and possible

She will be no more or less intelligent than any other individual who is given the same amount of access to everything that life has to offer.
