I am sure there is a day or month to honor Native Americans and other ethic groups. Why do you guys keep asking this question? Don't you know your own history? Every month in Febrary the same question is asked. Google and look it up on the net and fight for what you want like blacks have done and are still doing. You guys have your own Indian reservations. I heard you get money from the government for life. Why do you still need white folks approval? Read books and find out stuff for yourself. Don't sit back and wait for whitie or the man to give you something because they won't. If it's not presently in your schools, you can do something in your own community. Please stop asking this question because it has been asked a millions times. Blacks have fought for civil rights for all minority groups like yours can have rights. My anscestors have paved the way and this is the thanks we get. You probably don't likes blacks or know any black people. A lot of blacks have Indian blood in them.

FYI,
Native American Heritage month began as a proposal passed in 1915 that there should be an American Indian Day to honor the first Americans. Dr. Arthur C Parker, a Seneca Indian, proposed a special day during which all Americans would remember those who dwelled in the land first, before European exploration. The Congress of American Indians approved his proposal and it was passed on to then President Calvin Coolidge who issued a Proclamation on September 28, 1915 that the second Saturday in May would be dedicated to the learning about the United States’ first inhabitants.

If anybody deserved one it is them. Cheif Joseph, Crazy Horse, Geronimo, and Sitting Bull were all far more respectable as men and leaders than MLK or Chavez.
