well, what you could do to cut some of the cholesterol is make 2 fried eggs but leave only one yolk, and use a non stick spray/pan to cook them in instead of grease or butter.... at his age i dont think its going to really hurt him.,... but to ensure good eating habits i totally understand why you are concerned... my mom already has the high cholesterol thing going at 54 and skinny as a bone.... but thats what she does that her dr recommended....i think its great that you pay attn to what your child eats vs. alot of the mcdonalds generation!!=)

That word "fried" is not a good one. My son loves fried eggs too but he only eats them a couple of times a week and he likes them cooked in the microwave too. In my opinion, eggs are healthy but I would put a limit on eating them. More than likely your son will get tired of eating them so often anyway. Try to come to a compromise with your son and husband if you don't feel right about this or anything. Good luck!

I really don't think it is a problem. I read somewhere that eating eggs for breakfast helps curb appetite for the rest of the day, and even if you eat eggs everyday it only slightly raises "bad" cholesterol, but at the same time is slightly raises the “good” cholesterol your body has. It won't lead to any health problems.

Hmm...Your husband probably trust you to make a healthy meal for your son. Why not add in some fruits or vegetables together with the fried egg? ^_^
Or you can fry eggs using plant-based oil. Even using paper to absorb the excess oil would be great too.

I swear to God, my 5 year old has been addicted to fried eggs since he could basically eat. I have been trying to make him other meals and he cries for a fried egg. His mum even gives in with him. I don't know if its unhealthy, he seems fine, but he is a fried egg fanatic.

I am on the fence on this one, one month they say eggs are horrible for you the next they say its the best thing for you. All i know is many years ago, before we had all this high tech technology we ate what we wanted didnt take all this medicine, and lived alot longer, my grandfather died when he was 89, he ate what ever he wanted when ever he wanted, didnt take any meds, he loved his eggs fried, he loved his food greasy and ate lots of carbs he died from lung cancer, (from smoking) the one thing that we can be assured of, smoking does cause cancer, we seen it over and over again. but I wouldnt worry about eating fried eggs at 10. My son is 8 and for months all he would eat was shrimp, then it was mac and cheese, and then hot ham and cheese, I think kids find something they like and hang on to it. He will get sick of it sooner or later.

It depends on a lot of things. If he's overweight, he obviously shouldn't be eating fried eggs. But how's the rest of his diet? If he eats mostly healthy food during the rest of the day, I doubt it will hurt him. You may want to consider giving him something with the eggs. Maybe half the portion of eggs that he usually has, plus some fruit or something?

Only if you are frying them up in a ton of lard. No this does not cause health problems. How does he eat the rest of the day? Do you let him snack out all the time? Is he a fat boy? If not, fix him his damned eggs! lol

not if you fry it properly, the way it should be done, smear a TINY TINY bit of butter on a COLD frying pan, and crack the egg into it-still off the heat. then place it over a low to medium heat, and fry till cooked, this way minimum fat is used
if your son is like other children he will ask for this everyday for a fortnightthen wont have it again for years!! it will be a phase, he willl be on to flakes with grapes on them before you know it
