way to update my graphics card's shader model?

is there any way i can upgrade my current graphics card's shader model from 1.1 to 3.0? (my card is an NVIDIA GeForce Ti 4200 128MB)

NO way. Maybe it's time to let go of that good card if you want to move on to the latest games. There are good and fast AGP cards that support shader 3.0.
