Does it actually work and heat the water more than the silver or black covers?

I have had two of them (different pools) and I think they worked well and no side effects. Mine were the type with the air bubbles in them (like a big piece of packing, bubble-wrap). It not only heated the water, but helped keep the chlorine level in the pool longer. Any cover will do this by not allowing the chlorine to dissapate into the air.

Yes, it does. But keep in mind that those pools hold a LOT of water, so unless you leaveit on the pool for several days before getting in, the top half of the water will be warmer than the bottom half.

Yes, I think they work very well. But this is just a guess but you should get it it sounds cool

i bought one last year, only thing i noticed was that the algea grew a lot faster. did not like it at all
