Most people don't wear aprons anymore, but they do serve a purpose. If you have a nice outfit on and don't want an accidental splash of grease or water on you, then wearing one is a good idea. But obviously, if you're washing dishes in your pj's, there isn't a need for an apron. :)

They do make strong white aprons for men to wear. An apron helps protect you if you have an accident with hot water. But it also allows you to get aggressive with the scrubbing of the pots and dishes without worrying about messing up your clothing. It is a lot easier to remove a soiled apron then to change your clothing.

Depends on whether you want to get wet! When the weather is hot, I don't care, but if I want to keep my clothes dry, I put on an apron. (This is coming from a mom with a lot of experience washing dishes!)

My husband thinks aprons are hot, and I think it reminds me of old-fashioned housewives whose sole job was to take care of their family. I say just do it!!!!!
