From experience I'd say 10 working days.
I think it's really unacceptable that the 360 is still malfunctioning this often.
It's not like it's a new console anymore, there's no excuse - these problems should have been sorted out after the first batch.

it should take 1-2 weeks. i have never had the red ring (the ring of death) but 2 of my freinds have. My friends has broken 3 times and once it tool his over 2 weeks. they sent him a free 3 month xbox live gold subscription. so keep waiting and u should recieve it in a while

You should have got the shop to replace it under the 1971 Sale of Goods Act. That way you would have got an instant replacement.
Sending back to manufacturer will take weeks.

it could take up to 15days for them to get a repacement and a week to ten days to send it to youso about 23-28 days !

why spend money on an xbox 360 when you can get it for free? just go to this site and complete a few quick tasks and they'll send you one - at no charge!
